Briana’s Comeback Through Academics, Leadership, and Tennis
From a major tennis injury to a philanthropic champion, Briana is helping devastated communities.
When competitive tennis player Briana suffered a major injury during a pivotal junior tournament, her entire life shifted. What could have been a derailed year turned into one of growth, leadership, academic achievement, and rediscovered passion. This is a K12 Private Academy (K12PA) student success story that highlights resilience and the power of flexible online learning.
During an important match that could have earned her a US Open wildcard, Briana fractured her fifth metatarsal and tore a ligament. The injury took her out of competition for months and required her to rethink her academic path. She decided to look into virtual school options, strengthen her transcript with AP and honors courses, and find a school that could support her new plan.
Her search with her mom led them to K12 Private Academy. Briana shared, “My mom and I scoured the internet, and we finally found K12 and they were like, of course, we can accommodate you.”
She enrolled during her reclassified junior year in 2023 and immediately felt supported.
